Walk out from elfin

rob.morrison.h, Saturday 8th February, 2025 10:38PM

Stayed overnight the 1st and 2nd at elfin shelter, storm started about noon on the 2nd and continued through the 4th. In the morning there were 50ish cm new, bottom 30cm real light (hard to make a snowball) and top 20-25cm were mashed potatoes @ 1500m. When we stomped down hard enough the bottom 30 would crumble out and undercut the top heavy layer of the storm snow. On the jan 2nd we also dug a pit @1700m SE aspect On the face up to Columnar Peak CTM(18) down 25cm RP. Rain crust down 50cm didn’t move
