Skied Chickadee Peak today, left a bit late and BTL was moist at 10am, skin track supportive but untouched terrain had a PS of 10-15cm. At treeline surface snow became much more supportive, quality travel conditions. Air temp top of TL at 11:30 was 3°C, but a breeze kept the surface snow cool. 2500m and up saw 3-5 of new F+ snow turning moist at 13:30. Winds were light gusting moderate with light transport at ridge top, air temp -3 at 13:30 at 2800m. Skied very nice T2B going from hot pow to corn, supportive the whole way. Observed one natural size 2 cornice failure off extreme terrain on the NE summit ridge of Mt Chimper at 11:00, pulled small slab on snow shelf, did not scrub to ground Travel is still good from the road, might have one week left before snow doesn't reache the road and creek crossings are gone.
