Laps at the gorge

Went for a ski at the Gorge from km 17. It snowed most of the day in varying intensities, ~10cm accumulation throughput the day at higher elevations with limited vis. Rain/sleet on the lower half of the sled out. The skiing was great above 1800m but became quite heavy below. Overall the snowpack felt supportive, but above 1800m we had lots of sluffing of the top 10-15cm which gathered a fair bit of mass. Seemed to be running on a smooth softish crust layer which we could feel underfoot. By the end of the day this layer was beginning to form a slab but wasn’t fully consolidated. HS 155cm and the air temp -1 at 1800m.
