Sugar Bowl is Spicy!

25-30 cm of storm snow is on a vicious layer of surface hoar that has had wind effect and is reactive in isolated places within the tree line. Over 8 avalanches were observed and triggered on purpose and by accident. Mostly forming smaller sizes .5-1 but in open cliff areas and into open trees there was two size 2 avalanches.

The sun crush layer didn't seem very reactive. But the 30 cm of storm snow that is has fallen on surface hoar is very reactive even though it doesn't look harmful in a CT.
