Quick Observation
Went up little Kahuna with big dreams. Left with the smell of gasoline in my hair, shit in me pants, and thinking I shoulda heeded EJones' apocalyptic forecast earlier this week. The snowpack was fairly deep on N side of Fraser. Top layer was fairly unpredictable (at times deep pow, at times a barely formed storm slab, at times a hollow sounding wind slab). Looks like it's bonding pretty good. Also seems like the N-E facing aspects got slightly/moderately wind-affected which led us to believe the wind funnelled westward in the valley. We heard brappping but no whompfs. We saw sled tracks but no cracks. We neither saw any signs of recent avalanche activity nor, for that matter, the slope we went down in the flat light.
