Snorkel required at Gorge 17.5

We were not expecting to see such good stability of the snow pack. (See snowpack observations) The conditions were amazing, and confidence in the area we were in was high (from our own obv) There were signs of avi’s across the valley from us, and we induced some sluffing as we skid down, especially as the day progressed.

It was -5 at the start of the day, -2 at 1:15 pm The snow was falling gently all day, lightly covering our skin track each time we went up. 3 laps total

Although there was significant losing over the past week, we had no failures on our snow test. The persistent layer was 100 cm below the surface but did not react.
