Quick report

Increasingly over the last few weeks, playful sugary sluffs have been easy to trigger on steep, shady slopes at low and mid elevations in the Salt River, Wyoming, and Caribou Ranges. There is a lot of surface hoar and sugar snow, especially at elevations below the inversion layer where it has stayed cold pretty consistently for the last two weeks. It started snowing in the mountains around 2pm. By sunset this evening a couple of inches had fallen in the town of Alpine and the snowfall tapered off in town.
