Got a bit of everything on OXO today, mostly overcast and flurries with strong wind gusts at ridgetop. Alpine skiied surprisingly well, 5cm wind pressed snow over a generally supportive sun crust. Stuck to mellow slopes and were cautious of convex rolls given the snowpack Dug a quick pit at 2600m, HS 120cm, 5cm fresh snow on top of a series of alternating crust and facet layers that seemed to behave as a consolidated layey, then 90cm of facets (surprise surprise). CTE10 sudden collapse on the facetted layer. No other signs of instability in our travels today. Saw evidence of a recent (~24-48hr) sz 1.5 off the headwall to lookers left, appeared to be triggered by cornice failure and stepped down to the PWL.
