Quick Observation
Kept it simple today. Easy decision since there was obvious debris from recent avalanche cycle and continued wind loading. We didn’t go far above Fraser, up to 1250 m on mellow south facing slopes and around Bryant Lake. Moderate to strong gusty south winds, eased a bit with clearing in the afternoon. There is debris from recent natural avalanche activity on the NE aspect above Bryant Lake Avalanches started below the ridge around 1300 m and propogated wide and deep down to rock in areas, size 2. Looks recent (last 24-48 hrs). On the opposite side of the valley great riding in deep powder on low angle slopes. Step off the sled and snow was knee deep. Top 5 cm of snow is cakey. Softer storm snow below the heavy surface layer. Temps below zero all day -1C at road level at Fraser.
