Cassiope

Great day out to Cassiope. Wet surface snow on the approach to the lake. Evidence of natural release around the lake from previous days (small loose wet) and larger natural one close to Cassiope peak. Hard crust in shade ~1500-1600m. Powder in alpine above that. No signs of instability from ETC at 2100m NE facing, slope ~35 degrees. Moderate force shovel shear resulted in shearing at 80cm. Rode down NE aspect. Good powder, no signs of instability. Pretty quick exit as ski track is icy.
