Quick Observation

Great skiing in April but with touchy slabs.

Avalanche Information

Very variable conditions from 900 to 1300mts. Under 1100mts we triggered wet loose and wet slab avalanches in all aspects. Above 1100mts there was a mix of storm and wind slabs in what seemed to be in all aspects. We saw natural avalanche activity running on the top 5-10cm in steep terrain +40degrees. Skier triggered avalanches in +30 degree terrain tended to run on a deeper layer, but rarely down to the crust layer, with crowns varying ~20-40cm. Propagation was limited to the micro terrain.

Snowpack

Under heavily treed areas there was less than 5cm on top of the crust even as high as 1200mts. In open areas there was +20cm with areas up to 40cms. The new snow since Friday was quite varied, with upside down snow on top. South aspects was substantial heavier than north and east.
