Solar Flute

Assessing solar effect in afternoon on SW slope. Surface snow moist on solar aspects but not accumulating on skis or skins. Surface may freeze or facet out over night. In small lee features, shooting cracks to 1m down 20-30cm. Bonds in top 50cm strengthening well. No sign of SH down 40-60 at this elevation, but some SH developing in area on non-solar asp to 6mm. No loose wet observed in this area or pinwheeling. North aspects still skied as heavy dry powder. Air temps dropping towards freezing in later afternoon.
