Skied Fissile NW Face
Good quality skiing overall, snow got a bit heavier below ~1950m.
Weather was sunny in the morning with full high cloud cover by early afternoon. Light winds. Temp around -2 in the alpine.
WSL present immediately under the cornice, dropped in ~50ft further down the ridge without issue.
Significant evidence of pinwheeling on steep solar aspects. Lots of tree bombs BTL around sunset. No other instabilities noted.
Boot pack is in solid condition. Crampons were nice to have, axe was mostly an accessory.
Musical Bumps were all sorts of nasty and refrozen when skiing over old tracks of which there are plenty. Otherwise crusty heavy powder that skied ok.
Exited via Singing Pass without issue. Couple trees down and partially open creeks to be aware of but generally good to go.
