Quick Observation

Saturday was warm and wet with mixed snow and rain at lower elevations. It cleared overnight allowing the formation of a 5 cm supportive crust. HS 55-65 cm. Facets/surface hoar was starting to form as it had been clear most of the day. Above 1,700 m we noticed non-supportive crust and/or heavier snow. The best snow was found from 1,700 to 1,500 m where the supportive crust-crystal combination was nice to ski on. From 1,500m to parking lot it was hard and thin coverage.
