Quick Observation

Today we rode eagles pass, visibility was non existent with heavy constant snow all day. We did not observe any avalanche activity however we didn’t go looking for it as we stuck to dense burnt trees the majority of the day. At 11:00 we performed a column test on a north east facing slope at 2000m. We saw a sudden collapse (CTL4) at 45cm on the fresh storm snow, we also saw a sudden collapse (CTM5) at 80cm on a hoar/facet layer. Riding conditions were exceptional, we broke fresh tracks all day.
