Spent the last three days based out of Skoki lodge. The main story this week was the wind. Weds-Thurs we had typical spring variable cloudiness, -5 to zero, with occasional convective flurries broken by sunny periods. Winds were NW, moderate sustained with strong gusts for 48 hrs resulting in very impressive cornices on lee aspects thanks to the large amount of transportable snow. Tree line and above were hammered but good skiing could be had in sheltered NE aspects and denser trees. Lots of natural activity observed on solar aspects and below cornices.
Had -8C and 7cm over night with a further 10-15cm and gradual cooling through the day with strong NE winds I would expect reverse loading on exposed aspects. Heard some naturals falling from steep terrain even through the howling wind. Winter is back!
