Natural roofalanche cycle

mattatwhistler, Tuesday 28th February, 2023 12:50PM

We picked up another 6 cm of super fluff overnight bringing the 3 day total close to 40cm with estimated liquid water content of 20mm. Natural size 1 roofalanche, entirety of Feb 26-28 HST slid on firm red tin layer, likely due to recent settlement, bonding and subsequent warming. North aspect of roof slid 15 minutes later. No involvements. In all seriousness though, likely a tell tale sign of what the snowpack is doing higher up. Tread cautiously and lightly out there!
