Quick Observation

Spearhead traverse, satrting sunday at blackcomb. Lots of ppl out behind blackcomb. After deckers we saw 2 ppl ride patison safely. And traverse across trorey to the col to decker safely. The entrance to the trorey glacier from decker rode very well. No signs of instability. We started to get whited out at the top of tremor as the day got later. So navigation became difficult. We dug in after making an error and checking gps. Digging we did a small compression test on platform. Not fracture or weeknesses on the test through the arm test. I did a improvised test on the remaining block. Shovel on the side and gave a low to medium kick. Sheared of at about 80cm. Monday the morning was uneventful. We rode Macbeth glacier down to fitz, sun started warming most of the ridge at the bottom creating lots of snowball effect. We found the best slope coming the convexed slightly but was very stable and had been in the shade the longest and angle down the morrain that created its own shade preserving snowquality. The daunting slope up the fitz ridge scared us all so we opted for a safe zone around the bottom of the ridge. Visually witnessed 1 class 3 come down from south side of tremor into the curtain glacier exit and run almost all the way down the path. Shortly after this spurred a chain of big rumbles coming from that area we could not see in the curtain. The ridge we climbed was in the sun on the other side but the slopes were mellow. Snowballing lots. We climbed a morrain skirted the toe of the overlord glacier, up the morrain and to the hut. No other major signs of instability.
