Quick Observation

Decent skiing on Log Cabin, more edgeable than expected After driving deeper into the pass and everything else was clouded in, we came back to Log Cabin and the clouds followed us back across the border, with light snow (S1) falling intermittently through the afternoon. 2-3 cm on the vehicle at 4 pm Strong outflow (north) winds observed at road level from Summit Creek south, once we gained some elevation from the road at Log Cabin, moderate south winds were observed through the afternoon. Snow surface was highly variable up and down the mountain, commonly featuring hard surface (wind board / old slab) been 10-40 cm with facets below. Pole plant photo for reference of hard surface with variable snow at treeline. Debris from a size 1-1.5 slide was visible on a north-east aspect, approximately 100m above treeline, likely 48-72 hrs old. No settlements or cracks were observed through the day.
