The fracture did not propagate. *These observations were conducted at an elevation of 10,835' (just above tree line) on an east facing slope with a slope angle of 21 degrees. Snowpack
Recent high winds have resulted in significant wind loading, particularly on slopes with exposed ridgelines. The snowpack is solidifying with reduced variation in hardness levels throughout, though localized instability may persist in wind-loaded areas. Recent snowfall has contributed to the build-up of new snow on the surface, which is still undergoing consolidation. Snow hardness varied throughout the snowpack, ranging from 4-finger hardness in the upper layers to 1-finger hardness at the mid-depths, and pencil hardness in the deeper layers, indicating a snowpack that is starting to solidify. While the snowpack in this area currently seems generally solid and stable, the presence of wind-loaded areas and recent snowfall warrants caution. Continued monitoring is recommended, especially in areas with significant wind exposure and in steeper terrain.
