What stood out the most was the density of the new snow layer(upper 50cm). Because of the high moisture content, this upper layer has added weight to already weaker layers deeper in the snowpack. These weaker layers consisted of ice layer with facets either above or below them, on top of thick,dense, wet snow. With all these problems, plus previous wind loading issues, the potential for some Spring Avalanches is there. Already wind loaded slopes could now potentially break bigger and deeper with the added weight and steeper slopes could see the potential for Storm Slab Avalanches as well. If you're out Spring riding, for the time being, keep your mind about you and your head on a swivel. Some areas of collapsing under the weight of the snowmobile. Also still many areas with wind loaded slopes plus heavy new snow on top.

Snowpack
The upper 50ish cm of the snowpack is Fist(soft) but has a high moisture content, adding some weight to weaker ice layers below. 2 prominent ice layers stood out with the deeper one having facets sitting on top of it. The bottom of the snowpack is dense but as spring temps increase so is the moisture content throughout the entire snowpack.
