Steep Creek

Snow pack filling in well in alpine open bowls. Steeper zones still a bit shallow and peppery, treed runs likely need more snow. Observed 20-40cm (4F) of new snow on top of 20-30cm of small(0.5mm 1F) faceted grains with a crust down 75-80cm. Snow pack seems to be bonding well to the crust. No observed snow pack results on crust. By midday Friday, upper storm snow starting a SZ 2 natural cycle out of steep terrain with the warming. This 20-40cm upper storm snow will likely keep failing on the faceted layer with warming.
