Quick Observation

We went up log cabin today. Conditions are pretty marginal. Lots of tree wells issues in the small trees that are normally covered, some open water in the gully creeks and exposed and barely covered rocks. Many snow snakes leaping out. Although a few good turns higher up, it gets slabby and wind effected at the sub-alpine treeline which is where we turned round, and then the snow became heavy not far down from there. It was easy to push small heavy slabs off of small convexities, tree mushrooms and rocks. There was really no way to avoid coming back down the cut-line and it was pretty unpleasant - lots of stumps from clearing the line still at surface. We got a good look at the skier(boarder?) accidental from Sunday up on lookers left. Same spot as a few other skier accidentals over the past few years (March 2016 most recently I think). Glad there was no injuries.
