Quick Observation

Given the terrible vis at mountaintop we stayed below 2300m but above 1900m around Disease Ridge and Decker Tarn. Did a few laps in some amazing dry powder. About 10-15cm of the fresh stuff was sitting on a wet melt-freeze crust. The new stuff wasn't really bonding to the crust yet and would slough off readily on steeper slopes. Nothing seemed to be slabbing so we felt stable skiing up to 35 degrees. Very impressed with the snow quality (even on S aspects). Anything below 1700-1800m was pretty trash though and we were happy to take the gondola back down (skiing out all the way is no longer possible). Temperature stayed below freezing at the higher elevations, and was cloudy the whole day. Fog moved in and out at mountaintop but mostly left us alone.
