Skied the bowl below Grizzly Peak just outside of Fernie resort boundaries. Had to hike in the first 2km as the dense trees were not skinnable due to lack of snow. As we gained elevation we were able to skin up through the trees. The snow was very wet and occasionally the poles would push right through. Shaded areas had a firm MF crust, ski crampons were required to continue climbing. The ski down was heavily wind affected with sastrugi and had a firm icy crust.
Lots of avalanche debris was found throughout the bowl from last weeks warm weather. We saw what appeared to be a glide crack that formed on a NE aspect that we did not see in the morning.
