Wet and windy in the Telkwas

Today we rode in the Telkwas. We had a temp of 1.8C at 1650 m. There was poor visibility, strong southwesterly winds and occasional light rain. We dug on an east facing slope at 1700 m and found 115 cm of snow. During an Extended Column Test (ECT) we had propagating results during moderate loading steps on the Dec 23rd facet/surface hoar layer. We observed no new avalanches.
