A beauty day in Little Sand!

Today in the little sand area there was soft snow with little to no wind effect at treeline. We did not travel into the alpine but did ride some open treeline features. The day started overcast and cleared in the afternoon. Temperature were warm -1 °C at 2000 m around noon. South aspects were becoming moist with warm temperatures and then when the sun came out we observed several size 1 to 1.5 wet loose, 10 to 15 cm deep. We found 65 cm soft snow that seemed to be bonding to the Feb 3 melt-freeze crust.
