Duffey - Cayoosh Area

Widespread, large surface hoar below treeline and at treeline, not observed in the alpine. In general a supportive crust exists at or just below the surface up to roughly 2000 m. No signs of instability observed. Our route selection and terrain choice was driven by snow quality and coverage instead of avalanche danger. Smooth, low angle slopes provided to best and safest skiing. Lots of hazards hidden just below to surface.
