Quick Observation

We skied a few laps through the steeper sections in the Triangle Trees and the snow was excellent once you were well sheltered. Light powder ran fast on 40-degree sections through the trees but didn't seem to gather much mass and was easy to manage. In exposed areas, the snow stiffens up to a range of soft to hard slabs with highly variable snow depths down to the crust from last week. Hand shears on a SE aspect around 1550m in open trees released very easily on a crust about 30cm down. The block that released was planar with about 15cm of soft slab and 15cm of powder on top.
