Had a great tour from Polar peak to Thunder Meadows hut. Multiple avalanches from Monday’s storm observed along the way. Most notably a natural size 2 likely trigger from cornice fall in Polaris bowl. Debris from a large wet loose avalanche was observed in Hilda’s trees gully feature on our way out on Saturday (2.5?) Great skiing into Polaris bowl and Orca bowl in the Alpine and treeline. Spring diurnal in full effect on solar aspects and wind buffed surface conditions near ridge top on windward aspects.
Snow conditions were: Crusty, Hard, Powder, Wind affected. Weather conditions were: Sunny, Warm. We rode: Alpine slopes, Mellow slopes, Open trees, Sunny slopes. We avoided: Convex slopes, Steep slopes. Riding quality was good.
Avalache Conditions: Rapid temperature rise to near zero degrees or wet surface snow.
