Season Opener on Brohm

alxarmstrng, Friday 15th November, 2024 6:00PM
First day on the sleds up Brohm. Below 1750m there was a prominent 2cm temperature crust with preserved stellar underneath. We had a sudden collapse 2cms down on CTE2 so likely a future us problem after the next storm. There were plenty of density changes throughout and some preserved stellar interfaces that we had resistant planar results in the CTH, being 30 and 60cm down. The bottom 40 is a solid 20cm crust with pencil and almost moist snow sitting underneath it. All in all a pretty right side up start to the season :) We saw no signs of instability out there and skied a lap at 1850 on a N-NW aspect. The crust does not exist there and ski quality was good and surfy/supportive pow.
