Mount Mulligan

frynearson, Monday 21st December, 2020 3:10PM

Made it to 1050m up the Mulligan FSR. Did some field weather obs and turned around. Snowed heavily (s4) with L to M winds from the SW. Temps steady near -2. Although we didn't make it to treeline, I expect there's at least 30cm's of new storm snow with more in wind loaded terrain. Difficult travel conditions from 650m to about 800m (exposed rocks and creeks). Proper 4x4 with good tires and chains needed to make it down the road.

Weather Report

Dense, supportive storm snow. Ski Pen 10cm, Foot Pen 65CM. HS 112 at 1050m. Snowfall rate and winds seemed higher than forecasted in our location.
