-7C today in the field. Moderate to extreme SW winds were redistributing the 5cm of new snow that fell overnight. Thin, soft windslabs were reactive low down in the open trees. I suspect these drifts are thicker below ridge crests in the alpine terrain and may pose a threat in isolated areas.
Our group dug around today on a N aspect at 2150m and had no test results on the Nov. 23 or Oct. 31 crusts.
