Rockbound lake/chockstone coulour

Beautiful day up at rockbound lake. It’s still winter up high! The summer trail was touch and go icy/rocky for the first 3 km up to about 1700 m elevation. Great travel conditions after that. We found about 10-15 cm of light powder on top of a supportive melt freeze crust. The crust was just starting to break down around noon on east/south facing slopes with the sun mellowed by the clouds. Great boot packing conditions in the couloir. We knocked down some loose dry sluff and had some spin drift come down on us. There were also some small chunks of cornice in the fan. Otherwise no signs of instability.
