It was a warm and stormy day at Yanks. It was raining down low and snowing up high with wet snow up to around 1350m and moist to dry snow above. At treeline there was around 30cm of dense new snow which seemed to be bonding better than expected to the old now. It was snowing around 2cm/hr throughout the day with moderate southwesterly winds at ridgetops. Visibility was really bad so we stuck to meadows and trees where the riding was amazing and you could also see. We avioded steep north and east facing slopes near ridgelines that were being loaded with additional snow from the wind. Its likely those slopes will take a day or two to stabilize. There was also lots of snowballing and some small wet sluffs at lower elevations where it was raining.
