Quick Observation

Spring is a battle between winter and summer, while it was raining in the valley early this morning we were rewarded for pushing into upper elevations today. We found 15 cm of new snow at 1650 m, and upwards of 30 cm around 2000 m. Light to moderate winds were initially out of the southwest, switching to the northwest in the afternoon. There was a bit of wind transport, but I think those wind slabs have already settled out in most places, extreme terrain would be my only concern now. The snow was cold and great today, the sun is likely to induce some loose wet activity tomorrow. These are pretty primo spring conditions, the riding quality is phenomenal and there are not any deep lingering weaknesses in the snowpack. Avoid solar aspects as it heats up, and if you're going big tomorrow, you want to be on things early before the heat of the day. Happy shredding!
