Generally cloudy day with the wind picking up in the pm. Limited observations due to flat light.

Still an unconsolidated snowpack, but held you up on your skis. Foot penetration was waist deep. ~30cm of new snow from weather last few days. Surface hoar was found down 45cm. No whumpfing or cracking as up snowpack still not affected by wind where we were. Suspect soft slabs forming in open terrain at and above treeline
