Just the tip...

The way to heaven's gate was paved with crusty forest, rope-walking through dead-fall logs, bushwhacks, and soft-ish pillows. We were pleased to encounter angel's dust (pow) in the alpine. Given the high winds, we did not want to take a chance with the ridge top, but nonetheless ventured the tip of our skis through heaven's gate. Accordingly we cannot advise whether St-Peter's guards the way to the top. We saw no recent signs of avalanche activity or weakness in the snow-pack. Spindrift and gusting winds may change the scene fairly quickly.
