Thar Power Lap

South Coast Inland

Had a great morning out with the aim of summiting Thar. Worked our way up the face, within 150m of the summit we wrapped around the shoulder and experienced numerous whumps on convex wind affected slopes. We climbed another 50 meters in the trees where we found the storm slab was beginning to become cohesive. From that point we rode down the SW face of Thar and had amazing powder turns down to the ROW. Based on sluff and changes in the bonding characteristics of the slab over the time we were out yesterday I would highly recommend giving Thar a miss until this storm cycle winds down. The riding should be amazing when it does.
