Skied some below treeline cutblocks up the Dore today between 1200-1500m. Keeping to slopes as north facing as possible was key as whenever we wandered over to anything more west facing it got pretty crusty and wind scoured fast. On the north facing stuff there was a thin crust buried by about 10cm of powder which still made for good skiing on lower angle slopes. Below 1300m there is some pretty large new surface hoar growth but it all peters out really quickly with elevation. No avalanches in the area or signs of instability observed.
