Skinned up to 1950m on generally north facing slopes and saw surprisingly little wind effect even in exposed alpine areas. Different story to the day before where we found small localised pockets of windslab on exposed S facing slopes at Treeline. Snow surface at 1950 appeared faceted on sheltered N facing slopes. A quick hand shear at this elevation found a 15cm slab which had not been present up to that point, but appeared to bury an older layer of facets. Would have liked to investigate further, but gear issues in the party turned us round at this point.
Generally saw no signs of instability and riding was really good. Too bad for the forecasted warming tomorrow...
