Two skiers were hit by a 1.5 size avalanche which was triggered by another group of skiers on a convexity about 100 meters above. One skier was swept roughly 150m and partially buried, the other was able to grab onto a tree on impact. Due to potential for storm slabs in the south region we decided to keep things mellow, avoiding all convexities and kept to open trees with a gradient of around 30 degrees. Unfortunately the one thing we didn’t plan for was other’s choices. After a search of 3 hours for skis, we called it a day and were glad to make it out okay. Be safe folks.
Top storm slab released above us by another group. Uncertain on width/crown size. Travelled about 100 meters before sweeping away one of my party about 150 meters.
