Quite the day! Very strong northerly winds hammered the area this morning and returned in the afternoon. BUT we got an epic break from the storms and the blue skies were unleashed and we shredded. The day was cool -8 to -12. Looks to be close to 50cms of new snow from the most recent storms although winds have moved it around quite a bit and depths were variable. Several natural, rider triggered and rider remote avalanches were noted up to size 2. We tested a lot of small, low consequence convex features at upper treeline and alpine and received results. One major sledder remote size 2, 105cms deep on northerly upper treeline convex feature (see pics) well preserved surface hoar to 5mm mixed with facets. Its spicey and it will be for some time. Ride safe. Frozen Pirate
