Vitamin Ski Youth AST 1 in Lost Boys Pass area. Snow quality was quite good in sheltered trees, while at the pass there was extensive wind effect and evidence of old crowns and debris. While skinning up in the trees before the pass when one member of the group took a ski off and stepped into the snow we felt a settlement. We dug a test pit at 1750m and could easily see the surface hoar down 50cms in the wall. In both our compression tests this surface hoar failed on the first moderate hit.
