Quick report

Collapsing
isolated

Not much happening on ski tour, good skiing with fresh 2 inch on top of punchy upper snowpack. *** Anecdotal: Talked with folks at forest parking lot upon exit who were snowmobiling (3 total) around Bare Mountain. They observed multiple avalanches, had one partial sled and body burial (waist deep), no injuries. Avalanches were failing to ground level on North side of compass around 13:00 hr. Max crown ~3 ft depth. Not sure they will leave an observation. *** Whoomphing present and isolated cracking. Overall seemingly stable.

Snowpack

New snow ~ 2 inch. Snow pack ranges from 1 to 3 ft depth, less than 1 ft on south side of compass. Upper new snow (last few storms) seems pretty consistent and bonded. There is still the weak layer near ground and on brush / understory vegetation.
