Apostles and TL 170111

Spent 2/3 of day at treeline and lower elevations, but covered from 1400-2000m on various aspects. At TL and ALP extreme variability in wind effect. Ski penetration form 5-50cm depending on elevation and cover. Many open slopes at TL and ALP have windslabs over windslabs form different winds over the past few days. In places tracks have excavated and in others filled over...all on the same slope or aspect. Did not encounter any touchy slabs of significant size or depth as bonding seems to be progressing at least below 2000m. Winds shifting from SE to WNW as day progressed and temps rising slowly during the day to -14C at 1215. At 1445 @1835m temps at -10C. Surface hoar to 16mm noted at 1700m in open glades on NE asp. Near surface facetting in progress again...
