Girlfriend Hill - Trees @ Chilkat Pass

The temperature was warm, hovering around freezing. A light south wind increased slightly throughout the day. There was only very light snow, accumulating to a trace. Overcast skies featured some small breaks and patches of blue. RAIN/SNOW LINE ~2000 ft NEW OR RECENT SNOWFALL (CM) 30-40cm in the last 6 days Mash potato snow - too heavy for any wind transport, or for good ski quality. No shooting cracks or other red flags observed. ECTN23 down 60 PST 30/100 (END) @ 95cm Several small wind slab failures were observed along the highway road cuts and in the step gullies and active wind drifting/ snow transport above the treeline. Poor visibility made it challenging to see much detail. However, we did notice some debris piles at the bottom of a runout in Rainy Hollow.
