Zoa

Fun day on zoa. Quite warm skinning up the pipeline, surface snow was starting to get wet. Could see some point releases from below cliffs on solar aspects. Around 11:00 clouds started to roll in keeping temperatures at the summit of Zoa below freezing. Snow on north facing slopes was well preserved.
Approx. 30 cm HST from the week had easy to moderate hand shears and shovel shears with resistant planar fractures on the old snow on various aspects throughout the day. Some pockets of windslab could be detected from earlier in the week under the new snow from Saturday. Ski cuts on small wind pillows did not get any reactions.
A thin weak sun crust was starting to form on solar aspects at the end of the day with the cloud cover and cooler temps.
HS at ridge top was deeper than my 320 probe.
