We found 20-25cm of low density snow on top of a rain crust from earlier in the week. The riding was mostly good but you definitely felt the crust underneath, especially if you were riding across other ski tracks. We dug a pit around 1860m, and completed a compression test. We found that there was a moderate fracture (after 8 taps from the elbow) at the interface between the crust and the snow beneath it.
