Steep Creek Weekend

<p>Skied NE and E aspects on the SW corner of Darkside Lake, Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. Saturday afternoon, skied bowl on SW corner of lake from 2050m down to lake. Entered from W ridge. Snow felt soft and wet consolidated, no crust observed in bowl. Cornices loomed large overhead on N aspects. Sunday morning, 5-10cm fresh snow in trees and 20+cm in alpine. Skied open trees SW of lake. Great skiing in mellow terrain. Witnessed a size 2 avy from chute at S end of lake. </p>
